Text Messaging Program

This page describes the contact-confirmation text messaging program (“Sutherland Outreach”) operated by J.L. Sutherland & Associates, Inc., a Georgia corporation (“the Company”).

What the program is

The Company periodically sends text messages to its existing contacts to confirm and maintain current mailing and contact details — for example, confirming a mailing address before holiday cards or other correspondence is sent. Messages are conversational and may be handled by an assistant that identifies itself and its purpose in the first message.

How people opt in

Enrollment is offline and individual. A person opts in by giving their mobile number directly to a representative of the Company — in person, by phone, or by personal message — and agreeing to be contacted by text to confirm their contact details. A typical opt-in exchange is: “May we text you at this number to confirm your mailing address for our card list?” Only after the person agrees is their number entered into the Company’s private contact records, where the consent record (name, number, date, and method of consent) is stored before any message is sent.

There is no web sign-up form, no purchased or rented list, and no third-party lead generation. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase or service.

Message frequency and rates

Message frequency varies by conversation; a typical contact receives one to three messages per year. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP at any time to cancel and receive no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or reply “human please” to be connected with a person. You may also contact info@jlsutherland.com.

Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. See the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
